Student, 22, crushed to death by snow after roof collapses at all-night rave
A female medical student was crushed to death under the weight of snow when a roof caved in at an impromptu garage party in Siberia.
At least four of 200 revellers were injured and some suffered frostbite at the underground party at a disused cafe in scientific town Akademgorodok.
Thickly packed snow and timber roofing fell through a cloakroom roof crushing Tuyana Prushenova, 22, who died from her injuries.
A man suffered a broken pelvis and a woman suffered a fractured ankle in the 4am incident.
Some 10 people were trapped under the falling roof and blocks of snow in a temperature of -20C, with some suffering frostbite.
Party-goers were putting on their coats to leave the illegal bash at the time of the tragedy with outside temperatures of -20C.
“The music was very loud when I heard a sudden crack, and then a girl screamed,” said one witness, reported The Siberian Times.
"I rushed towards the door and jumped outside.
“There were guys inside the cloakroom when it happened.
