Autumn Leaves and Flowers From My Street for Sublime Sunday
Suddenly it's Autumn. I'd like to say it came without warning, except for the calendar and that whole equinox thing. I'm still wearing sandals though... I'm no quitter! Tonight I have a few recent photos to show you, all captured close to home.
Some autumn colours across the street from my house.
The dahlia flowers seem to love the cooler weather.
This is an autumn rose - it's showing a little wear but it's still beautiful.
The silver mini van in the above photo is what we drove on our crazy roadtrip. It got us home safe and sound!
A closeup of one branch of a maple tree... we don't normally get a lot of bright autumn colours in Victoria. Certainly nothing like autumn in Ontario. I was happy to see this today, and hear the forecast call for two more weeks of sunny weather.
The beautiful weather today made this a truly #sublimesunday.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!
so beautiful photography nature is always calming
Thank you, yes it's true :)
Thank you @pixresteemer!
I find that we have the same climate. I find that we behave the same way at the end of summer ... nor do I like to give up easy summer clothes. Your photos show a very beautiful place, a quiet and a lot of vegetation ... the last flowers and the gentle light of the sun. Very nice, thank you!
Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed the photos.
With pleasure, of course!
The autumn rose is very beautiful. Why is it called as such? Is it because of the color? Or it only blooms during autumn?

Thank you! I'm not sure about the name, someone told me...
Beautiful capture of the autumn colours and the two flower blooms, Keith. We are having cooler nights but sunny days. Summer seemed to just fly by..I think it’s true about time going faster when you’re older. 😊
We're having the same weather on both our islands today! Different oceans though. Did you know they smell different? I always remember taking the ferry from Cape Breton Island to Newfoundland, and the smell of the brine, and fish and I don't know... icebergs and rain perhaps. Doesn't smell like that here. Those memories are from 45 years ago but they are still fresh in my mind. I honestly think there were so many more fish in the sea in those days that the air smelled different. For all I can tell, the Pacific smells no different than Lake Ontario. This was a big surprise to me when we moved here.
I’ve never been to the Pacific Ocean but love the smell of the Atlantic...especially the seaweed. I lived near Lake Ontario years ago and swan in it. Not a strong smell that I can recall. Yes the fish have definitely declined over the years...so much commercial fishing.
How nice to have that tree drop pretty colors on your van. It's like a welcome home confetti drop. We don't even get that much color here, so consider yourself lucky :)
Oh, we're very lucky! In the PNW it's common for it to rain and never stop. I know that's illogical, just go with it. :)
Your street is looking very pretty @keithboone. Your autumn looks more advanced than ours.
We had terrible weather yesterday, heavy rain and high winds and today it's like summer again! it's hard to know what clothes to put on in the morning but, like you, for now, I'm still wearing my sandals! 😊
The thing around here is to wear layers. Except for during the peak of summer, you can wear up to three layers on most days. It's why everyone I see has a backpack of some sort - so they can carry a light jacket or sweater and put them on as needed. The weather changes that often throughout the day.
I'm not ready for shoes and socks, either! I'll keep wearing my birkis until the snow gets too deep! Wonderful photos!
Thank you, Melinda! I refuse to acknowledge the end of summer! Glad you're with me :)
Awesome photos, Keith! Congratulations to Cathy for selling a painting! It is much too early for autumn. You just got into summer...
Thank you! We did have some nice hot temperatures while we were in Ontario :)
