103 years later, the missing submarine was found
After the founding of 103 years, the remains of Australia's first submarine were found. 'HMAS AE-1' was the first submarine of the missing joint forces in World War I. It disappeared from Rabaul in Papua New Guinea in 1914, with 35 Australian and British crew.
Finding the submarine is the 13th search team near Papua New Guinea's Duke of York Island.
Australia's government says it has resolved the oldest mysteries related to the country's ships.
Defense Minister Marais Peine said Thursday that it is one of the most important discoveries in Australian maritime history.
In the First World War, this was the first incident in the Royal Navy and the joint forces of submarine Harano.
The search team uses an underwater drone to search down the sea, which explores 40 meters (131 feet) above sea level. Found in deep water more than 300 meters, the ruins of the submarine are found.
The Defense Minister said the search team members organized a short memorial for the victims of the submarine crash.
The Australian government will try to contact the descendants of the submarine crew. Papua New Guinea authorities will also discuss with regard to setting up memorials to be found in the ruins
