A story about a great server!!!
This is a Story of a great woman who is a very special servir in her country! this is an example of we can be in service mode to succeed!
THE COOK FROM COLOMBIA
Mrs. Charis cooks every day in a small commercial space beside her house near Manizales, Colombia. The art of cooking has been inherited from her ancestors who could make the most delicious dishes of Colombian cooking. Her nieces and her only son work with her, helping in the kitchen and attending the diners.
This restaurant, in the mountains of Manizales, is nearly out of sight of those traveling the highways. It has what I call Energy.
These dishes are prepared using the best ingredients available in the zone, and the effort to assure that the modest providers work the land and raise the best produce so that it can be transformed by the magical hands of Mrs. Charis and her cooks.
Day after day diners come here to feel, see, and smell the best of her production, which is no more than her art converted into a service which can be enjoyed. There is also something that greatly pleases the clients: the attention they receive from her son and some friends of the village who tend to unite in the clan of servers on weekends due to the great demand by clients. They are there, understanding, and tune in to the clients in a perfect environment for a perfect meal.
In this example, it can be observed that service has one part which is tangible, another part intangible. The food, without a doubt, has much which is material and part of the immaterial essence or intangible, and the attention is tangible.
For this reason, service can be defined in the broadest sense as “the sum of tangible and intangible values offered to humanity”.
