Successful life

"All my life I have loved challenges. The thrill of being in a competition, learning brand new stuff, working with different people, teamwork – these are what I am truly passionate about. After coming to BUET, I have attended numerous business competitions, bagging a win every once in a while. But my most memorable experiences here have been HULT prize and Battle of Minds. However, the two were pretty contrasting in terms of team collaboration. In HULT, I was working with three of my closest friends. So we already had enough understanding of weaknesses and strengths which later had a lot to do with our team

reaching the finals in Shanghai. But Battle of Minds this year was a whole different story. I was working with completely new people. So I took it as a challenge and gave everything to this competition. I remember staying up till 5 am in the morning working on our presentation. I had to skip classes, club activities in BUET, and I don’t think I can recall sleeping at all back then and yet the entire time, everyone kept telling us, ‘The best you can do is come second’. It was a given that we wouldn’t win, so all we were expected to aim for were the finals. The feeling was disappointing to say the least. So when we did reach the finals, and everyone was satisfied thinking Team 360 degree from BUET has already done the best that can be done from BUET, the results were declared. And I cannot express what I felt at that exact moment. Because the announcers didn’t say, ‘The winner is Team 360 degree’. They said, ‘The winner is “BUET”’. We honestly could not believe what had transpired back then. For the first time ever in the history of Battle of Minds, the championship now belongs to our University. And now nobody can say, ‘The best thing that BUET can do, is come second.’"
