The Golden Moment

Gibsons Steps, located on the Great Ocean Road, Australia is one of my favourite places. Once you conquer the steep steps down the 70m high sandstone steps, you are greeted by a stunning beach that is home to these two sea stacks named Gog and Magog. Even if you don't get to visit during sunrise or sunset, the walk is well worth it, with views that are unmatched from the high viewing platforms above.
On this particular visit, it had been overcast all day, but the clouds decided to shift allowing this beautiful sunset to shine through. This was taken in January of this year, and was one of the first images I was truly proud of. I feel the crashing waves on the shore made the perfect leading line into the subject.
