FUN WITH SILHOUETTES - ROCK STACKING IN THE SUNSET
This should make things a little interesting.
If you saw my post yesterday, then you know that I am trying to experiment with some sunset photography. Just to make things a little more interesting, I wanted to play with some silhouettes. For starters, I'll be trying some stacked rocks.
THE STACK
I tried a few different angles and positions for this shoot to try to get the best combinations of the setting sun and the stacked rock silhouette. These are a few of the photos that caught my eye. I hope that you like them.
A BOAT PASSES BY
This was cool to catch, and I was glad that it happened. A boat drove by the background while I was shooting, so I snapped some shots. I had more, but I like these since there show the boat on each side of the silhouette, and also one with the wake entering the silhouette, but with the vote hidden behind it, which was cool.
CLOSER
I thought that this was a clever and creative way to contrast the beauty of the sunset and its reflection with a interesting large, black silhouette. I'll be working on my creativity and photography skills as I continue, but I hope that you enjoyed this shoot.

This is a fun subject, so many times chasing the sunset for it to fail. :(
Setting a timer on your camera for a silhouette with oneself your partner is a good one.
I have a great one of a gibbet ( real gibbet ) at sunset silhouette. Well worth experimenting with the technique. :)

I love the contrast of a silhouette!
Inspiring! I like the idea of shadow stuff too. Like creating somthing to cast a specific shadow then shooting it on different angles... I love experiments!! Keep up the good stuff!!

I have seen this type of rock stacking all around the island of Sal,Cabo Verde, never found out what it meant, great pictures ;)
