Our Beloved COVID

I guess it's a night in which I've got a lot on my mind. I say that as if it differs from any other night.

For someone with so much on his mind, I don't even feel like I have a lot to say.

Well, let's see. We're still doing the COVID dance. Maybe we'll call it the COVID Shuffle. 100 person limit in the building at work, wearing a respirator, and maintaining a six foot distance.

You'd be surprised how many people need a $3500 lawnmower during times like these. Or the obsession with gardening. I'd probably feel different about that if I owned my residence and didn't rent. Maybe I'll go plant a coconut tree in the back next to the RV shop.

Maybe what's on my mind is that this job isn't for me. I did try. Working at a hardware store when you know nothing about hardware other than what you've learned during your tenure is taxing.

The labor can get bad, especially right now with all of the online orders people are sending through. Before, a busy day consisted of an online order every 10 minutes or so (on top of the deliveries we have to fulfill as well as stopping regularly to help someone). Now, it's thrice that and we're having to use other people from different departments.

My hands have been hurting. I think it might be about time to move on. Also, too much anxiety from people. This job prevents nearly all possibility of working on personal problems as you work. And people try to tell you you're someone you're not. They make you out to be a shitty person.

There's always going to be someone mad over something not your fault, someone mad over something that is your fault, a customer who needs help with something truly heavy, or a customer who needs you to somehow engineer anything and everything they are needing.

It's not a knock on the job, but if we were professionals, we'd be wealthy professionals running our own business. So, for that, I do see that there is a lot of opportunity to learn and take the information with you.

Work aside, I've been watching Ozark. It's a pretty good show in my opinion. The location is not crazy far from my area so that's kind of cool. But Jesus, I'm tired of looking at Jason Bateman's nose, though.

America gets weird without sports, The NFL Draft was aired recently and it was as if we were witnessing the landing on the Moon if we are to go by the hype.

It's different seeing your own life without sports in it. You notice it's all kind of silly. Really you knew that already, but now you see it more clearly.

Anyway, the gloves are in aisle 8.
