Surging Coronavirus Cases
Surging Coronavirus Cases
There have been a rise on coronaviruses cases within the past two weeks for all US States that have reopened their economy and lifted the stay at home orders. It appears that the rise are coming from states who opened earlier than other states like Florida, Texas, Arizona, and here in my state California. This rise is expected, I don't think another shut down is necessary, but I do think everyone should be mandated to wear a mask unless you have medical conditions with physician certificate that warrant you from wearing a mask. Mandatory mask wearing, is not violating civil rights, in my opinion because it hinders public safety. Let's be fair here, would you rather have a stay at home order or still allowed to go out as long as you wear mask and social distance. At least this is what every good citizen can do while we continue to move on with our lives. Although, some are still not comfortable, like myself, in completely resuming my life back. I don't plan to travel until we have coronavirus treatment. Right now, I don't even feel comfortable going back to work daily. I don't feel comfortable going out to eat in restaurants, although, take out is okay with full blessings. I remain uncomfortable seeing my own family who do not live in my household. I continue to feel unease for my child to resume sports activity. Let's be honest here, people who don't wear mask and are not social distancing are either in denial, ignorant, or they just don't care. Having coronavirus vaccine will certainly help and from what I heard we will have vaccine as early as this winter, but this vaccine supply is limited, and who wants to be a guinea pig. Once vaccine is approved they are about over 90% safe; in medicine there's never 100%. My prediction is, we are about at least 1.5 years away from having treatment.
So what can we do while we are waiting for this coronavirus pandemic to surpass us......
This is the time for home projects i.e., work in your garden, front yard, backyard, garage. Take care of your health- go out and exercise: walk, jog, bike around your community. Binge watch on your favorite shows, movies, get plenty of rest, sharpen your use of electronic skills; learn how to facetime, zoom, try new programs, platforms, applications, social media, etc. Do some interior decorating, bake, cook, clean, do some art, enhance your writing, enhance your reading. Believe me, if you occupy yourself with these things to do, time will fly, and it will make you more appreciative. Places like the beach, mountains, deserts, and your favorite places to travel will always be there after coronavirus, so let's relax and find things to do indoors, take care of ourselves and stay safe.
Despite these tough times, we are still blessed........
I write this because we are still fortunate we never had a military lockdown like China, UK, Italy, and amongst other countries. Our stay at home order here are less relax than other countries. We were still able to go to groceries, banks, pharmacy for our essential needs and even drive around.
What can the pandemic teach us........
For me, definitely patience and priorities. Others say, I learned how to save money- this is great! A few says, I didn't know I had special talents; some say I learn how to plan, I learn how to take care of myself. Till next time!
