Syria, E. Ghouta Update: Ceasefire announced by Russia and Syria, rejected by Wahhabi Contras!

in #syria8 years ago

Daily ceasefire announced by Russia and Syria in east Ghouta from 9am to 3pm, as well as opening multiple exit corridors for civilians in the area. Wahhabi Contras reject the proposal and refuse to allow any civilians to evacuate!

For those who want to understand the situation of the civilians in east Ghouta, I offer the following information. The word Ghouta in Arabic, means a flat area of land that water streams towards, an area usually used for farming. The area surrounding Damascus to the north of Mount Qassioun, is exactly that, farms and orchids. The Ghouta is outside the Province of Damascus, it is part of the Province of Damascus Countryside.

The western section of Ghouta was liberated by the SAA and allies a while ago. Prior to the beginning of the war on Syria, east Ghouta had a population of 200K, spread between the various villages, and the two suburbs adjacent to Damascus, Jawbar and Harasta. Most of the population had moved out when the Wahhabi Contras attacked from the Syrian desert; we are talking here about an exodus of at least 90% of the population towards the capital, leaving around 20K civilians left in the area at most.

Remember when the SAA was advancing on east Aleppo city? We were told hundreds of thousands were trapped under the merciless bombardment? When in reality the majority of all Syrian refugees in the world came out of Syria's largest city Aleppo, and flooded the seas to escape Wahhabi Contras! Remember when the fighting ended and there was leas than a few thousand civilians found who talked about the horrors of the Wahhabi Contras?

I hope this makes things clearer for those who have no idea about the geography of Syria.
