Australia Food Guide - #22 Pot of Gold, Nimbin
Crazy little Imbiss in a crazy litte town. We´ve been to Nimbin today, the Cannabis Capital of Australia. As you can imagine there are some cafes to choose from. We´ve chosen the one with the best google reviews, the Pot of Gold
Verrückter kleiner Imbiss in einer verrückten kleinen Stadt. Wir waren heute in Nimbin, der Cannabis-Hauptstadt Australiens. Wie du dir vorstellen kannst, stehen einige Cafés zur Auswahl. Wir haben das cafe mit den besten Google-Bewertungen ausgewählt, das Pot of Gold
Cafes or take aways like this one you´ll find in every small country town in Australia. Usually they serve dishes like pies, burgers, fish and chips and other unhealthy yummy food. Most of the people just order their food for take away but there are also a few chairs available.
Since their menu isn´t really huge it was easy to choose. We ordered one fish and chips with a flathead fish and two Benny Burgers which is a Bacon + Egg Roll with Hollondaise sauce and a hash brown on a turkish bread.
Cafés oder Take Aways wie dieses findet man in jeder kleinen ländlichen Stadt in Australien. Normalerweise servieren sie Gerichte wie Pies, Burger, Fish and Chips und andere ungesunde Leckereien. Die meisten Leute bestellen nur ihr Essen zum Mitnehmen, aber es gibt auch ein paar Stühle.
Da die Speisekarte nicht wirklich riesig ist, war die Auswahl einfach. Wir bestellten einen Fish and Chips mit einem Flachkopffisch und zwei Benny Burgers, ein Bacon + Egg Roll mit Hollondaise-Sauce und einem Rösti auf einem türkischen Brot.
While the food in most of these little cafes is not really good, this was quite delicious. The chips were homemade, the fish tasted fresh and the Benny Burger was exactly what you need if you had one puff to much of the pipe. But more about this in a other post.
Während das Essen in den meisten dieser kleinen Cafés nicht wirklich gut ist, war dies sehr lecker. Die Pommes waren hausgemacht, der Fisch schmeckte frisch und der Benny Burger war genau das, was man braucht, wenn man einen Zug zu viel von der Pfeife hatte. Aber mehr dazu in einem anderen Beitrag.
