Banh Gai Ninh Giang
Banh Gai (black rise cake) is a specialty cake in Ninh Giang town, Hai Duong Province - my home town. It is made from rice, green bean, cocount, meat, thorn leaves and sugar.
After mixing materials and packing, they are boiled in a boiler about 1 hour at 100 degrees C.
It's outside is black that is color of thorn leaves. It's inside is yellow green that is collor green bean.
It is plastic, fragrant. You can buy it at Ninh Giang or somewhere in Hai Duong province. Ba Toi bakery is a famous bakery in Ninh Giang.
Cake can be 4-5 days but should use immediately after a day picking the cake will be the best cake. If refrigerated in the refrigerator can be stored for 7 - 8 days, when used to boil boiling water only after 15 minutes will have the same quality as the original.
