Foodie Tasteem#55 - Tasty place.Taste of Thai
Hello Steemians, Hello Hong Kong!!
As a tourist you may not need to know a place for local named Ma On Shan, it's residential area with lots of citizens. With so many people living there, however, it's hard to find some good restaurant over there.
But today, I take this challenge and go to visit this restaurant with my friend for the Thai foods. It looks normal from the outside and I walk closer to their menu, all the things look usual.
They don't even pick a English name so, no English menu as well. However, from what I have heard from my friend, the restaurant is operating with Thai people so it's still worth to have a try!
They offer the common foods you can see in Thai restaurant plus the set you can see from the below. Those icons next to included may good for the people who cannot understand Chinese.
Every time I will order this sauteed water spinach with belacan. "Belacan"is Malaysian shrimp paste, the taste is a little bit spicy and a little bit of seafood flavour. I'm not sure when it comes with water spinach, the taste can be so matching and I really love it!
So you can see the red big thing is red pepper, and the little red mince is the chili. The belacan is zesty and highly recommend!
And another must try is pad thai!! If you follow my blog for a while, you can see I'm the fan of pad thai too!
I'm surprised by this as you can see, they included 2 very big prawns on top, but in fact they got 4 of it. It makes the pad thai very scrumptious. Again, look at the colour, it blasts my tastebuds.
Pad thai is a combination of sweet and sour, so it's really appetizing. I really want to know why Thai people can create such a great foods!!!
My friend asked me to take this finish shot to saying I eat up all of them, LOL. So no doubt, they're really good. :D
The restaurant offers around 30 seats and you can see the flags of the elephant symbol are every where. Simply decoration with great foods, that's the key for a successful dining place.!!
Finally the price per head is HK$60(US$7.60), a usual cost for a dinner in Hong Kong.
If you come across Ma On Shan and found nothing to eat, just come over and have a try!
