Bibingka takeaway during breakaway
The first time we passed by this bus stop-over area was during a night trip to Olongapo so I did not have the chance to look around. I had such when I was already coming back to Metro Manila.
There are many stores in the bus stop area but Grills n' Sizzling took my attention. On the counter, it has a lot to offer for travelers who are on the run. Take your pick and go! Though, there is a dining area which is common for all stores so travelers can dine in with complete set of meals.
For takeaways, they offer many options which are mostly light snacks like these sweets and chicharron.
I was hungry along the trip so I needed something that can be a heavy meal without having to dine in. I spotted these bibingka or rice cake, got one and went back to the bus. Bibingka are usually cooked in clay pots covered with banana leaves and put on ember.
At the price of P60.00 (US $1.15) for one bibingka, I thought it was a bit pricey. But with the taste, I realized it is worth it. The rice was grounded very fine. Sweetness was perfect. Not so sweet and not on the bland side either. Plus, it is not just sweetness from sugar but also from creamy milk. And surprise, it was indeed a heavy "meal" as I was totally full after finishing it. 😊
When you are traveling and passing by Lubao, Pampanga, this bus-stop area is a place to go. When you have more time to spare, you can enjoy their garden dining in front of the stores. 😊

Hhmmm... maybe we can call bibingka as rice cake if they are big and muffin if they are small. I may actually have a different review for a takeaway chain offering bibingka only. Let's see... 😊
