Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

People who beg for money are a common occurrence on the streets of South Africa, a country ravished by poverty and unemployment, although not as much as some of our neighbors. There exists many tactics for begging among those in the profession... Some make signs out of scavenged pieces of cardboard on which they communicate their various needs, while others display physical disabilities (some not all that convincing), in an attempt to soften the hearts of those who would pass them by.

And then there is this dynamic duo:

I spotted these two while taking pictures of billboards in the city I live in (it helps pay the bills) begging at a busy intersection near a shopping mall. I couldn't help but be taken by their positive demeanor and the obvious symbiotic nature of their partnership. There is a lesson here, and the age old saying holds true. Teamwork does indeed make the dream work, however small it might be.
