Weakening One Another 互相削弱

It is beautiful to strengthen one another for a good purpose. As no one is able to accomplish a great thing alone, it is vital to team up with another person or others for greater strength. However, we may unconsciously team up with another person to weaken one another.

Everyone has strength and weakness. Two persons may come and work together. They accommodate and condone one another’s weaknesses. Though they work together in harmony, if they are in leadership positions, their organisation may suffer eventually.

Supposedly, there is an organisation having co-leadership of two persons. One leader is an easygoing person and can’t be bothered about details and is lacking of empathy towards colleagues, whereas, the other leader is having character faults to the extent of utilising cunning strategy to accomplish the goal of the organisation. The easygoing leader is a man of integrity but being too easygoing or over optimistic, he or she would just bear with another leader though sensing the co-leader’s character fault.

Overtime, such a good organisation will be weakened because it does not operate with co-leaders who strengthen one another with their strength. Instead, unwittingly they weaken one another by their weaknesses. They apparently work together harmoniously, but the organisation will decline only a matter of time.

As no one is having all the strength and everyone has weakness, therefore we need to sharpen one another by our strengths rather than condoning one another’s weaknesses. An ancient proverb has put it rightly, “Iron sharpens iron, So one man sharpens another.”

为了一个好目的，彼此加力是美好的事。由于没有人能够独自完成一项伟大的工作，因此必须董得与其他人合作以获得更大的果效。然而，我们可能与另一个人合作，却不知不觉的互相削弱。

每个人都有強处和弱点。两个人可能在一起工作，他们彼此包容对方的弱点。虽然他们和睦相处，假如他们是处于领导地位，他们的组织最终可能会受到负面影响。

假設在一个组织有两个人共同领导。其中一个领导很随和，不注意细节和对同事缺乏同理心，而另一位领导则倾向用狡猾策略来实现组织目标，显然也有相当程度的性格缺陷。即使这位随和的领导是一位诚信的人，但是因为随和及过于乐观，他会包容另一位领导即使他感觉到了对方的错误。

随着时间，这个好的组织将被削弱，因为她的两位领导雖然和谐共处，他们却不是相互加强，反而是在不知不觉中因包容对方弱点而彼此削弱。结果，这组织会日漸衰落。

没有人能拥有所有的力量，而每个人都有弱点，因此我们需要应用各自的长处相互磨练，而不是纵容对方的弱点。正如一个古老的箴言準确的描述，“铁磨铁，磨出刃来；朋友相感也是如此。”
