LETS BUILD A PC

I have some knowledge about building pc-s but that knowledge is out of date exactly 10 yesrs.
10 years ago i whas a hyped kid that folows ewery pc news, and liked alot of intel-s processors like q6600 , but today i dont have time too folow the new stuff ,reviews,benchmark ... etc.
And now i am hear ascking for your help to make a good ,budget desk pc that can be used for steam games and all infomedia and etc. I need real suggestion from real ,live and personal experience what works good and how good,what works bad and why ...etc
