The "Kalashnikov", a radically new light machine gun

Concern "Kalashnikov" has developed a new hand gun. In an interview with TASS said the General Director of the concern Alexey Krivoruchko.

"On the basis of studying the experience of modern armed conflicts, we have developed an easy to 5.45 mm Kalashnikov machine gun RPK-16. Weight, size, accuracy and versatility, this gun has no analogues", — he said.

The product can be equipped with interchangeable barrels of different lengths. In the long version it can be used as a machine gun, in short — as an assault rifle.

Specifically for the RPK-16 developed a new high-capacity store that can be used with Kalashnikov rifles.

In may the interior Ministry announced a tender for the development of 5.45 mm machine gun "KORD-5,45" special operations (EQL "Master 2"). At creating weapons capable of firing a rate of 800-900 rounds per minute, allocated 25 million rubles. The gun should be equipped with interchangeable barrels, it is envisaged as the shopping and belt feeding.
