A new GPS technology !!!
Broadcom has recently announced the launch of a high-resolution GPS chip with a high resolution of up to 30 centimeters in a major development on one of the most advantageous features of mobile devices and automobiles.
The US semiconductor design and development company at the ION GNSS + exhibition in Portland, Oregon said it has begun sending samples of a new GPS chip.
The new chips feature a very high resolution range of up to 30 centimeters. For comparison, the accuracy of the current generation of GPS chips is between 3 to 5 meters or up to 16 feet.
The next generation of GPS chips is expected to solve many problems with accuracy in locating the user. Broadcom says the chips will appear on smartphones starting next year.
The improved accuracy is due to newer industrial GPS satellites, which send additional information to the phone that can be used to reach the greatest accuracy in positioning. According to the company, there are currently 30 satellites supporting the new standard.
In particular, the new GPS technology is supposed to be very useful in cities because it avoids the problems caused by signals from large buildings, where the system is less accurate in dense urban locations.
