Of course, it will happen. Everything that can, does, with very minor exceptions - where are our jetpacks, our hoverboards? And when it does, like the self-driving cars that are tangling ethics professors in gordian knots, we'll need to be ready... the initial adopters (of magnetic screening devices, say) will have a definite, palpable advantage over the competition, especially when the Government start sending out truth waves...

We should start working on the ethical systems now...
