Google might be close to acquiring HTC.
Rumors are flying that Google is making a move to acquire some of HTC's assets. HTC is going to be holding a meeting on Thursday at its headquarters. The information suggests that the deal has already been finalized and the final points are going to be worked out in this meeting. No official statement has been made from Google or HTC regarding these speculations and no information about the money being paid or the amount of assets being acquired have been disclosed by both of these companies. Although no official statements have been made but both the companies have also not outright denied the rumors about the acquisition.
HTC is the company which had made Google's Pixel phones last year. This year the Pixel XL is going to be made by LG while the smaller model is going to be made by HTC. The new models are set to be debuted on October 4 by Google. HTC has also announced that they will be halting trading of their shares on the Taiwan stock exchange tomorrow pending the release of 'material information'.This is further proof that some huge news is going to be released by them. So we just need to wait till Thursday to see if the rumors are true.
