Are people becoming too dependent on computer nowadays?
With the help of computers and the Internet, we can talk to people from different countries, and even see them. Computers also have its own disadvantages like it has harmful impact on people’s health. The most hazardous part of any computer is its screen. Due to it, users can get 2 types of radiation: X-ray and electromagnetic radiation. Both types influence health and our eyesight. Computers also make people addicted. In fact, Chinese scientists consider the Internet and computer addiction to be a serious psychological problem. It also hampers people’s development in real life. We do not read printed books anymore, since we can listen to audio books or read books online. We spend less time with people, since we would rather talk to someone online.
Society is becoming increasingly dependent on computers and technology for functioning in every day life. Every aspect of our lives has been affected by the infiltration of computers and technology. Computers are used to conduct business from home, meet new friends and find old friends, maintain communications with distant family, and to met out some stress relief after a long day at the office. As more and more people rely on computers to succeed each day, it begs the question – are people becoming too dependent on computers.
Computers serve to help people and make their life easier and their activity more productive, but there has appeared a problem of the computer addiction or dependency, especially among the young people. Young people spend the absolute majority of their free time in front of the laptop surfing the web and looking for entertainment. Computer games have become so popular, that children can not imagine spending time outdoors, but play various computer games, which are often full of violence. The main functions of computers: education and work have lost their primary importance and now computers are mostly associated with entertainment.
However, every sphere of human life, including business, economics, politics, science, education – everything depends on computers greatly. Every organization has its own databases which contain all the necessary information required for the work. It is obvious that if something is wrong with the computer, the job is failed.
It does not worth mentioning, that the modern age of information has made people dependent of their computers greatly and it influences the human life controversially. On the one hand, people gain the opportunity to fulfil more work and spend less time on it; on the other hand, people lose their identity and interest in life, being absorbed by their PCs, laptops and smart phones.
