Here you can buy burgers just by showing your face
Jobs can be endangered by the new technology.
In March we wrote about a burger chain that had invested in a robot that can make burgers entirely on their own. Now, the same chain has tested yet another exciting way of using technology, which could endanger even more jobs. It reports Digital Trends.
CaliBurger, as the American citizen chain, has tested a solution that uses facial recognition to let customers order burgers.
It all works because previous orders that have been made are registered in the system and appear on a screen after the system has identified the customer via face recognition.

The system lets you quickly choose from your own specific preferences so you do not have to spend time at the disc.
Then, with a few presses, you can choose one of these earlier orders, or choose something else and pay by sweeping the card. The food is picked up at the counter. To use the solution, you must create a loyalty account, which allows you to earn loyalty points by smiling at the camera on the screen.
In the press release of CaliBurger, the company announces that the goal is also to put in place face recognition recognition to further simplify the process.
Yet it is an experiment, but if the customers are satisfied, the chain plans to roll out the solution to all restaurants globally. The chain is not represented in Norway, but CaliBurger has restaurants in Sweden and Spain. However, one should not ignore the fact that the solution will be adopted by other chains in the long run.

To be fair; automation can outperform humans in efficiency for jobs like these. Yes it is concerning but maybe it's better for the long run? :P
Many people will lose their job, of course robots will do better in these kinds of jobs :)
