Now it can jog
Boston Dynamics' robot takes ever more steps towards working like a human being.
At regular intervals we get a little taste of what the developers at Boston Dynamics are doing. The robots, who in the beginning barely managed to move around, are now beginning to really remember more about animals and humans.
Two of the most famous robots are called Atlas and SpotMini. The former is designed to mimic a human being and gained much attention last year when it took a baked broth.
Can jog without help
In the latest video from the company, we see Atlas take a jogging without the need for human assistance. It is true, even though it is as smooth and free in running as human beings, yet it must be said to be impressive to see the big machine getting so easy.
Not only does it run on flatmark, it also manages to climb a hill without visible problems. But perhaps the most impressive is when it stops and comes across a tree lumber that is in the way.
Here you can see and judge yourself:
SpotMini is also on the go
Also, the second robot, SportMini, is taking ever more steps in the development. In the video below you see the robot go through once and up a staircase.
You can see that this is a robot at a time, but it is still impressive to see how easy it is to face the challenges it faces. Note, however, that the robot is manually controlled to learn the "path" it passes through.
