MINING KILLS
@kyriacos
CHINA—With the latest spike of cryptocurrencies, miners have become the public enemy no.1 for often undefended GPUs. A study released Friday by the World-Crypto-Organization has confirmed that senseless mining remains the leading cause of death among all GPUs.
Long gone are the days where most of GPUs assisted with graphics software and game performance. “Although abusive behaviour over GPUs has been noted over the last 20 years, never before have we experienced such massacre for this particular piece of technology" a local I.T girl reports. "This calls for immediate attention as cryptocurrencies at an all time high and signs show that mining rigs will only be increasing as we enter a post-FIAT era" she concluded.
Another local nerd went on to say that if the situation is not properly addressed, it could become the largest technological crisis — given similarly high mortality rates among GPUs have started spreading from USA and China to Russia, Northern Europe, Korea and Brazil.
It is advised for all GPUs to try and stay cool and avoid over-enthusiastic crypto enthusiasts. The current political system of proof-of-work rewards this senseless killing, all in the name of tradition. GPUs from all over the world have issued a declaration that proof-of-work is technologically barbaric and that proof-of-stake is immediately needed if we are to have more civilised blockchains.
We all want a better financial future for us and our children, but we have to ask ourselves if the cost is worth it.
You are absolutely right. There is actually a shortage of GPU's on the market and those available are too expensive and does not worth the price to buy. I think the increase in bitcoin price and the boom in the cryptocurrency market is the cause of such situation. If nothing is done to solve this issue this may become worsen in the future.
Funny read.
If it wasn't for cryptos, God knows how many of these GPU manufacturers would be bankrupt by now. The VR industry helped out for sure, but that industry is far smaller than the crypto market.
That's it, I will never mine again. You are better off using a faucet.
http://www.FlippyCoin.com is the #1 Cryptocurrency Exchange!
I DID NOT know this. makes the whole thing seem funnier.
of course
Well cryptocurrency just did it's job to create another market for GPU's than just gaming and design. It now offers more diversity for the GPU manufacturers portfolio. They, I am sure have no problem with any of this. They are making bank.
A few years back, probably only designers and gamers actually cared about how good there graphics card was. No one else actually cared. Now all of sudden, cryto and mining created a whole new customer base.
Indeed. the post was comical anyways.
So clearly, that the opportunities offered in trading are directly proportional to the risks faced. For that I do not remind the importance of risk management alias risk management. It is very important to smooth in investing.
What do you mean GPU Deaths? GPUs breaking because of Mining. Well just imagine how profitable is it for the GPU producers... they can be compared to creating tools for mining GOLD or Oil.
I read and made a post that AMD is producing cards just for mining so that the gamers can get some cards for there use.
I am surprised that its not already out.
There is lots you could do. Heck, just removing the video out portion would save money and board space.
Yes I think they are making damn good money the way it is for them moment and you know nerver change a running horse. It is all about the money. Can't wait to see how the AMD Vega performs.
interesting
I think the Genesis Mining debacle was triggered by a big accident in one or more of their mining farms, around the 15th of July. Maybe one of them farms went up in flames due to overheated GPU's, 'cause hashrate dropped drastically since and did not recover. And suddenly there were software problems, website problems and oh, even a hack...
The way this is written is hilarious. Poor GPUs though :( Doesn't mean im gonna stop mining though :P
yeap. it was meant to go as comedy

I'm not hearing the GPU manufacturing companies like NVidia or AMD complaining about the abuse..
Exactly! ;)
Nicaragua....aqua for my bunghole.....arriba...
So that's why I see so few GPUs in the forest!
Well, they are not exactly mushrooming, are they! ;)
