Milling cutter or milling machine
If you think that Milling or Milling machine is the same thing ... well you are wrong ..
milling Machine
The milling machine is a machine tool very often used in the machining of complex metal parts or other spherical materials
Source
There are 2 main types of milling machines
Vertical, The vertical milling machine has XY horizontal plane and a motor mounted on a vertical axis Z, the combination of the movement on the three axes produces three-dimensional paths and allows the machine, making movements only on the Z axis, to make holes and bores.
Horizontal The horizontal milling machine always has an XY platform, but the cutting unit is mounted on a lateral guide: by structure they vaguely resemble large circular saws. They are mainly used to flatten blocks of material or to make slots, recesses and continuous pockets. They can be installed in a chain to make complex production systems.
Milling cutter
Speaking of "milling" refers to a varied range of tools called "cutters" that can be mounted on a milling machine

This image represents a finishing bur
The difference between the two is immediately apparent to the eye
There is still another very important tool called Flattener ...

In this case we can see in the image a type of flattener with inserts, in this case 8, also like all the tools of the mechanics are classified according to the material and to greatness
