Elon Musk is changing the world day after day. Musk is a man that solves problems that our society faces today and problems that we will face in the near and far off future.

This entrepreneur is best explained through his many companies, life changing ideas and action he is taking right now to ensure humanity is smart, safe, and efficient.

Paypal

Many of us may know paypal, it's an online based service that is used to send and receive money. In 1999 Paypal was co-founded by Musk. Not many people know this was only his second time being part of a startup, after co founding Zip2 with his brother in 1995. In 2000, he was removed from his role as CEO due to disagreements with company leadership. Two years later this company was purchased by Ebay for $1.5 Billion in stock, which Musk received $165 million of.

SpaceX

After this early success of PayPal, Musk wasn’t stopping here. He traveled to Russia with some colleagues and attempted to purchase a rocket. This rocket would be used to start his vision of landing a miniature experimental greenhouse on Mars containing food crops. These crops would try to be grown in a Martian atmosphere. Musk thought this experiment would regain public interest in space exploration. After traveling back and forth to Russia with no luck, he decided it would just be cheaper to build the rockets himself as it would only cost a staggering 3% of what the Russians were offering him.

With $100 million of his previous fortune, Musk founded SpaceX with a goal to make humans a “true spacefaring civilization”. Musk's goal is to reduce the cost of human spaceflight by a factor of 10. To get an idea of this, currently it would cost 10 billion to send one human to Mars. He wants to reduce this ticket price down to the average price of a home in the United States. In a keynote last year, he mentioned the earliest possible window for travel to Mars would be 2022. Musk wants to establish a mars colony by the year of 2040 with a population of 80,000. He stated that, since Mars' atmosphere lacks oxygen, all transportation would have to be electric (electric cars, electric trains, Hyperloop, electric aircraft). This is very fitting, because the next company he joined is an electric car empire.

Tesla

According to Musk's Wiki Page, "Tesla, Inc. (previously Tesla Motors) was founded in July 2003. Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning, the founders, financed the company until the Series A round of funding. Musk then led the series A round of funding in February of 2004, and joined Tesla’s board of directors as chairman. After the 2008 financial crisis Musk assumed the role of CEO and product architect."

Recently the company has released a more affordable car for the middle class, and will be out next year going for around $35,000 before upgrades. Just about a month ago the company announced some crazy news. They will be releasing a fully electric Semi-Truck and a new Roadster. The semi truck is a game changer, as you will soon find out.

Trucking companies are the ones to benefit here, as they can save money every mile they drive. According to Max Heine of Equipment World, "The Semi will have operational costs of $1.26 per mile vs. $1.51 for a typical diesel tractor. That’s a 16.6 percent savings". Over time this small percent will add up to billions for trucking companies. This video shows the efficiency and acceleration difference of both options.

The Roadster has stats comparable to the Bugatti and around $2 million dollars cheaper. This new age vehicle has the fastest 0-60 time of all street legal cars, at 1.9 seconds. The time of electric cars is here and car manufacturers that don’t see this will lose out on billions of dollars.

Experts say on average, 2.4 million pounds of Carbon dioxide are emitted per SECOND! Supporting Tesla and Elon Musk is the best thing our society could do, especially when looking into the future.
