Beautiful Adventure Part 1
On the first day of year 2017, while everyone is celebrating New Year partying, my wife and I had a lovely time at home sipping cups of hot chocolate while thinking about our dreams and visions and what we want to achieve for this year. We sat down, grabbed a piece of paper and a pen, listed everything that we want to happen and how to attain them. Number one in our list was "to live life to the fullest by going to other places we haven't visited yet".
It may be just a dream thinking about it since we didn't have enough funds to do all those things. Mind you, my salary as public school teacher was not enough to cover all the expenses and my wife, at that time, was working as a teacher in a private institution. However, we are firm believers of the Law of Attraction. We always believe that we must always visualize and believe that anything we want to achieve and hope for will become reality.
We had this vision board posted on the wall so that everyday we see them and we condition our minds that they are within our reach. We didn't realize that those things slowly became a reality. Don't get me wrong, we also strive hard to process everything from taking Teach English as Second Language (TEFL) course to getting all our legal documents apostilled in our embassy and booking round trip flight tickets and hotels. There were times when my wife asked me if we must continue; she has this tendency of getting worried over small things but I was there to remind her that we must move on since she has put a lot of efforts to make it this far.
I am glad we left our comfort zone and we didn't succumb to negative and unhelpful comments from our families. I know they were just worried about us thinking that it'll be risky going to other places, leaving the comfortable life that we had. Yes, it's risky, but that's the beauty of it. We have met a lot of friends from other countries, who also happen to become our roommates. We tasted so many traditional dishes and got acquainted with other cultures. We spent so many days visiting other places and we slowly understand the rich history of each country. These experiences have opened our minds to the beauty of the world we live in.
So, if they will ask me if I want to go home? Nope, not yet. I am glad we took our first step by listing all what we want to do this year. Otherwise, we could still be at the comforts of our home, working our asses off, living day-by-day with the same routine. This risky adventure is far from over.
