🛕 Pashupatinath Temple
Pashupatinath Temple is one of the most sacred Hindu temples in the world. It is located on the banks of the Bagmati River in Kathmandu, Nepal. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, who is worshipped here as “Pashupati,” meaning the Lord of Animals.
The temple was built in traditional pagoda style with a golden roof and beautifully carved wooden doors. Only Hindus are allowed to enter the main temple, but other visitors can see the temple from the outside.
Pashupatinath is an important place for Hindu pilgrims. Many people visit the temple during the festival of Maha Shivaratri. On this day, thousands of devotees come to worship Lord Shiva.
The temple area is also famous for its cremation ghats along the Bagmati River. It is believed that people who are cremated here will get salvation.
In 1979, Pashupatinath Temple was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a symbol of faith, culture, and history of Nepal.
