TERMINATOR 2 - OCEAN - ARCADE REVIEW

Terminator 2 is a fighting game for Spectrum, among other systems, published by Ocean in 1991.

In the future, machines have almost annihilated the human species. Only a group of resistance, commanded by John Connor, constitute a threat to Skynet, that has conquered the world.

Skynet sends a new Terminator back in time. This time it is a much more powerful model and the target of him, the very leader of the resistance when he is still a teenager. At the same time, the rebels manage to reprogram an old model T-800 and send it to protect John.

Terminator 2 structures its levels by mixing different genres, as is common in Ocean's productions based on film licenses.

The predominant genre is one-on-one combat, in which we basically have to drain our enemy's energy by hitting them. The different movements are obtained by combining the arrow keys with the shot.

On the other hand, we have the top-down driving levels, whose common denominator is that we will be chased by the enemy Terminator piloting different vehicles while dodging a multitude of obstacles.

Finally, we will have to solve stages based on puzzles involving moving pieces. If we manage to recompose the proposed images, we will be rewarded by recovering the energy lost in previous battles.
