RE: Does This Still Work?
i see ... well , i think that's up the #thecompany and #justinsun then ... there's no one else developing so im sure they can have some majority patch that forces nodes tho have the latest version - it's I.T. ...nothing should be impossible
i had a lot of tripe with that due to the immense amount of time it takes before you can access your funds
unless you're like a millionnaire already and you can keep a few ten or hundredthousand or million liquid
i mean imagine having a bitcoin, even just one and then having to wait 13 weeks before you can trade it ...
if the system wont accept anything but the majority version and Sun makes some effort with the spare change in his pockets at the end of the day (or ned , assuming he's still a 'share'-holder it shouldnt be that hard to fix but my guess is the 'main' public basically has no clue (as always) and gets shiney eyes when someone says "crypto!" (i dont wanna be demeaning but i speak from experience and observation) and steemit has always had a bad habit of "o well ... it aint that bad" lol
that's why they're here, to fix it, you and i can't fix it since we dont have a witness
i don't even have a node as i'm totally broke bum (mentally dysfunct (aka broken) too)
all i can do is NOT spend fiat until at least they make sure they do and actually hoping they would report stuff like that in the main channels :)
but well ...
"blacklist" accounts and stuff ... :/ ... i thought it didnt go further than not showing up in the U.I. so there's no slander or disruption of the public order and not touching the actual wallets
i mean a blockchain where you wallet is blocked ? that would be like EOS and its small patriarchy already decided a few times
very un-reliable ... all things considered i see the main circlejerking crowd who came in here to play little despot and has virtually no skill except "having money already" move to EOS voice from hive anyway, its gonna be attractive to them ... but if this thing is that bad and it doesnt get fixed then this thing is utterly un-reliable
if then :p
i wonder btw @rishi556 , pardon the incessant questioning. STeem has condenser and steempy-cli / steem-py , i know there's a condenser version for hive but do they have the cli and .py lib for automation as well ? otherwise its not gonna be interesting to me anyway. I'm not mister "O YOU SUCH A BEAUTIFUL WHALE now upvote plz .." so i never mix well with the in-crowd :D
No, it goes a lot further than frontend blacklisting due to hivemind. Theres a bunch of accounts that have been pretty much stopped from doing any action on the .888 version of steem.
hm ... so in essence someone up there flicks a button and all your money's stuck ?
@rishi556 ...
that's seriously back2bitcoin then lol omg ... and no legal precedents ... sigh this is why the main chunk always starts crying for regulation
i read about EOS doing that to some "suspected" accounts , for some reason they can do that apparently its hardcoded so their cryptogarchs can collectively lock someone out ...
thats why i never bothered much, not that im coming in hot with druglord money here or anything but if all it takes is someone pointing a finger ?
that's not very reassuring :/
especially the part where its not mentioned in their 100 days campaign , not even under the guise of "we cast protection from evil 10ft radius" for the greater good and benefit of all and what not ...
i have no reason to doubt you and im sure you're not an instigator of any kind trying to recruit hapless souls to the hive ...
if it were worth anything id probably sell off half too here , knowing that ... but its basically not worth the powerdown lol
18 cents or something
hardly a pension fund ... :/ thanks for the info again lets hope they communicate something about that then
Is's a bit more complicated than that. Enough witnesses need to flick that switch.
And yup, EOS has done that. Sell it all I say, Sun's fucked the chain.
I'm not sure if it's as simple as to blame it on Jusin Stun , that's like saying the chinese would deliberately infect the population just to get to the mericans imo. The allergic reaction and the subsequent reaction certainly did no good for anyone (except maybe @freedom who is like several million dollar richer while sleeping , and a few others)
I never saw the original triad here as much of a maecenas for the people, so Sun comes in buys the company that has been developing it all from the start and suddenly they're no longer in charge . The price is the same as before but i do notice issues , im not sure wether that has to do with nodes or the whole interconnected thing. I saw this week my autovote script had added everyone in the list but only up until the account name https://steemit.com/@something/ with no permlinks , but i havent changed anything so it must be serverside and the replies for those who voted don't get parsed anymore either, it just hangs there, for about three or four hours now.
But euhm ... even if Sun is no saint, i think those who wanna play witness do take up responsibility and it's up to them to follow up , thats why they get elected (in utopia , where votes from four years ago can't linger lol)
Looks like my reply was lost and I don't wanna type it all out, but yea its a serious problem, and its a bit more complicated and requires enough witnesses to approve the change.
so maybe some of the witnesses are just holding the whole thing back and we'll get another split where steemit takes absolute control for real and Sun can make sure it all works right
or not ... im still convinced he just wanted a toy to pit against EOS voice - things could have been a lot different but alas , people are people .
hive didnt hold long, its back to $ 0.3 from $1 ... and this thing just won't stick over $0.2 ... to think when i signed up it was like $7 or something
if all that is really slacking witnesses then i think the overlord has no choice but to wrest control in order to protect his new toy-company
and then we'll get more ruckus
but overall if i see the gen-pop feed no one seems to really care much , maybe we've been down-under too long here lol , we just know too much and you seem to know a whole lot more than i do still
at any rate, as long as that's not fixed it would be ill-advised to buy more steem, thats for sure
Yup, I hear sun is buying up much of the steem to keep the price high though. I wonder what it would really be like without him.
fyi btw it looks like everything i had in cron hasnt come through for 2 days or so but im not sure what side thats on , i can post manually and it did post when i ran the script manually but none of them did on the set times . If it were worth an actual dollar i might look into it but the dishes look mure urgent lol
Chain's suffering more and more issues by the day. Both chain suffered hivemind related issues this morning. Hive fixed it quickly and steem is still working on it.
i noticed a lot of glitches in the matrix, frankly i have no clue what all the upper money is doing if it takes that long and why they don't take it down until fixed ...
