Elaine's Story
My name is Elaine Marie Benavidez and I live in Longmont, Colorado. I am a data analyst for my job and I work for the United States government with the U.S. Census Bureau (Department of Commerce). I have been assigned to do data collection on the National Crime Victimization Survey for the census.
My greatest source of fun is historical research and collecting important historical artifacts that prove YHWH works through history.
I own a private Israel Artifact Collection- the Benavidez-Medina Israel Artifact Collection which is one of the most significant artifact collections in the world related to the development of the State of Israel. I have original British Mandate manuscripts and photos, United Nations documents, Arthur Balfour and Theodor Herzel photos and manuscripts, Keren Heysod photos/pamplets/books, original photos from 1917-1967, military games from Israel dated 1948, original Survey of Western Palestine books from the first archaeological surveys of Israel 1881-1897 and sooo much more (countless important artifacts). I also own a few important artifacts related to the Nuremburg trials and the Holocaust. I believe I am one (of many) called to collect the ‘collective historical memory’ of the Jews for them.
A couple of my friends realized the importance of the Benavidez-Medina Israel Artifact Collection and gave me $25,000 to support my ministry at building bridges of love between the Gentiles and the Jews. I have Ashkenazi Jewish DNA markers in my ancestral line and it appears my forefathers were Jews who were banished from Portugal. I interact with Rabbi Yaakov Borenstein with the Longmont Chabad regularly but I am nervous because I was brought up a Gentile and do not know all the Chabad culture, customs and festivities well.
I met Yeshua as a child through a Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh) encounter when I was held captive in a basement in my early years and through reading a bible I found in the house when I became a teenager. Yeshua has made it possible for me to survive extensive trauma and to impact and influence global atmospheres. I have done significant projects in very dangerous places in the world (Sinjar, Iraq and Guachochi Mexico).
I am currently enrolled in an online class Biblical Hebrew A with the Institute of Biblical Studies-The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. I am currently half way through the course and it will take precedence over the Hebrew Quest Lesson because the course cost me $800. I started learning Biblical Hebrew because I wanted to explore and understand the bible not from a western viewpoint and to understand the historic Christ in context to his culture and to discover the exciting multi-dimensional meanings of root words in the Biblical Hebrew text.
Biblical Hebrew is hard; however, I have found a few very important tools have helped. One tool is a digital version of the HALOT and BDB Lexicons.
I found HLI through a series of online searches because I wanted to see if I could find a Jew who was Messianic who could help me find references of the Hebrew words for Yeshua and Meshiach in the Midrash, Zohar and Talmudic texts. I believe Holy Language Institute can help! I am also interested in collecting original manuscripts from the 1600's-1700's of prominent Christian Hebraists (I am expanding my artifact collection to include these types of manuscripts).
My father was a human rights activist. When we were growing up our town was segregated and we were the first in the town to break the color barrier (we bought a home in forbidden segregated area, and we were the first to go to school in primarily white school). I was also very abused by my mother who held me captive in a basement in the first years of my life. I overcame all that hardship through a relationship with the Father and by respecting everyone.
My advice for fellow students is to learn the history of the Jews from AD 70 to 1970. It will help to put historical events into biblical context.
Please pray for my adult children, Aja and Layla who are believers but are not following after him closely and are influenced by the current American individualism. My son, Jeremiah Medina is a very close follower of Christ and is in the Marines. He will inherit the Benavidez -Medina Israel Artifact Collection. Also please pray more importantly for me that my relationships with the members of the Chabad will flourish and be honoring and that I will have only the words that the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh) has for me to say.
I am following the current assignment of the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh) of the grafting in of the Gentiles to the Hebrew roots, the commonwealth of Israel and the importance of the coming of the Son of Man and the Resurrection of the Dead. The Benavidez-Medina Israel Artifact Collection is a source of fascination for the Jews who know of its extreme importance and deeply revere it!
I prefer to be contacted by text (720) 552-2730 or my alternate important email: historicaccuracy@gmail.com but I can be reached on Facebook (which I do not monitor closely). I do talk to people in Israel, Mexico and Iraq using Messenger using ‘Elaine Benavidez’.
Waouh I'm pleased to meet you. The purpose of your artifact is well defined and purposeful. Hebrew is certainly very hard and I hope to learn about the language soon too.
I pray for your kids, that the Holy spirit would convict them to follow him closely and forget about the pleasures of this world.
Thanks for sharing your testimony.
