Hello Steemians!! 🌿✨
Welcome to a beautiful new week, and not just any week this is the sacred and reflective Holy Week. My heart is filled with gratitude to witness yet another season where we are reminded of God’s unfailing love and the priceless sacrifice of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
As Christians, Holy Week is not just a routine on the calendar; it is a deeply meaningful journey. It calls us into moments of quiet reflection, humility, and renewed faith. It reminds us of the path Jesus walked the love He showed, the pain He endured, and the victory He secured for us all.
It all began with Palm Sunday, a day that marks Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. I always imagine the atmosphere that day the joyful crowd waving palm branches, shouting “Hosanna!”, There is something so powerful about that moment… a reminder that even in celebration, God’s bigger plan was already unfolding.
Sadly, I wasn’t able to attend church yesterday. I woke up feeling quite unwell, I was stooling and it left me very uncomfortable and weak. It was one of those moments where your body just refuses to cooperate with your plans. I really wanted to be in church, to wave my palm branch and join in the praise, but I had to stay back and rest. Thankfully, after some time, I began to feel relieved but by then, service had already ended.
Instead of letting the whole day slip away in disappointment, I decided to step outside for a short walk along my street.

The morning sun felt so gentle and healing against my skin. As I walked, I reflected on how sometimes life slows us down not to punish us, but to help us pause and reconnect. Even in that quiet moment, I felt a sense of peace wash over me.
Holy Week itself carries so many beautiful and emotional moments. From Holy Thursday, where we remember the Last Supper Jesus breaking bread with His disciples, teaching them about love, service, and sacrifice to Good Friday, the day that always humbles me. It’s the day we reflect on the suffering and crucifixion of Jesus. Whenever I think about Good Friday, I can’t help but imagine the weight of the cross, the pain, and yet the overwhelming love behind it all. It teaches me that true love is sacrificial.
Then comes the joy of Easter Sunday a day of victory, hope, and new beginnings!
The resurrection story always fills my heart with excitement. I remember as a child, my mum will always make sure we attend church throughout the week and it has always been a beautiful experience, The songs were always more joyful, the atmosphere more vibrant. It felt like heaven itself was celebrating! Easter reminds us that no matter how dark things may seem, there is always light at the end. Jesus conquered death, and through Him, we have hope, renewal, and eternal life.
After my little walk, I returned home and decided to lift my mood by doing something I love cooking, I prepared plantain porridge, one of my favorite meals.

There’s just something comforting about it, especially when I make it myself. I carefully peeled the plantains, sorted out my ingredients, washed everything thoroughly, and set it on the fire.

The aroma that filled the kitchen was simply irresistible! In just a few minutes, my food was ready, and I sat down to enjoy every spoonful with so much satisfaction.
After eating, I tidied up the kitchen and spent the rest of my day relaxing and reflecting. Even though my day didn’t go exactly as planned, it still turned out to be peaceful and meaningful in its own way.
Holy Week teaches me that not every moment has to be loud or perfect sometimes, God meets us in the quiet, in the unexpected, and even in our weaknesses.
As we continue through this sacred week, I pray that our hearts remain open, our faith strengthened, and our lives filled with gratitude. May we truly embrace the message of love, sacrifice, and victory that this season brings.
Wishing you all a blessed and reflective Holy Week, and in advance, a joyful and victorious Easter Sunday! 🌿💖
