The Diary Game: YOWICCN EXCO FELLOWSHIP AND OTHER ENGAGEMENTS - 22/1/2026

From the city of Uyo, I bring you all greetings as I share my record of events and how it went altogether.

As the new year begins, plans are in the works. Religious groups are engaging in fasting and prayers, some are on retreat, while in other aspects, annual reports and evaluations are ongoing. It was not different from the Youth Wing of the Christian Council of Nigeria. We fixed a retreat and fellowship having drawn out an itinerary for the year. But before I give you details let us follow the sequence of my activities for the day from the house to the fellowship and other things I did before the close of the day.

I woke up very early, we observed our morning prayer at about 5:24 am, then prepared my son for school. I planned my day to exclude going to school. The previous day I ensured that I completed all my classes, preparing them for their first test of the term.

School Runs before going for Exco Fellowship

About 7:10 am, I took my son to drop him off at his school while I navigated my direction toward Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area of Akwa where the YOWICCN excos were going for a fellow. All the exco members agreed that we are leaving Uyo at exactly 8 am from The Salvation Army which was our departure venue.

I was in pain to have been in this location at 7:30 am. We needed to be there by the said time before moving. I was there for over an hour, others did not show up. When it was a few minutes past 9 am, 3 of the executives.

We ended up leaving Uyo for Nung Udo in Ibesikpo. As they came late, they pleaded not to be angry. We left behind others who were not there even after waiting for such a long time.

Around 10:05 am we got to the A.M.E. Zion Church, the venue of the retreat fellowship. Out of eight (8) members that make up the executive body of YOWICCN, five of us were there, so to say, we formed a quorum. Prayers were said particularly for the welfare of the youths, our followers, families, committing the year, and our plan of work for God to direct our decision-making and processes.

We prayed until noon and were dismissed to have a brief meeting, helping us to study our plan of work for the year. Adjustments were made on date, time, and venue as we put the State CCN itinerary side-by-side with our own, ensuring that there are no conflicts in programs.

While we were having the meeting, the host pastor of the church encouraged us with some snacks. It was a lifesaver. Some have not been fasting for a long time but we need to do it because the task of leading the whole state is enormous. In all the retreat was a point of revival for us.

About 1:30 pm, we were done and departed for various destinations on our way to Uyo.

Immediately I got to the house, my wife wanted to go out and get a few items in a mini market (Urua Ewet Offot). She wanted to cook as my son didn't allow him to do anything, my coming back was a relief to her. I put the boy to sleep and we went out together.

During Bible Study Class

It was in the evening that I went for bible study. We learned more about the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria “Grace Upon Grace”. The bible study class defines grace using suitable words to reflect God's concern for humanity. Grace was seen as an undeserved favour, an unmerited favour, kindness, forgiveness, mercy, goodness, and so on. The class took us from 5 pm to 6 pm.

Watching Football After Bible Study

After we closed, I lingered a little while to watch the community boys playing football. I was almost carried away by the skills displayed by the local talents who pray they are scouted to be taken to clubs even to Europe.

It wasn't long before the referee whistled to end the game, and gradually the field was left alone with grass and goalposts while players and spectators used the school gate.

At 7 pm, I was at home, I met my family joining the 2026 Glory Reign of Salvation Ministries on the cable and I was spiritually involved. It was a blessing as the general overseer Pst. David Ibiomie preached on the Divine Helper, pointing his congregants to depend on God for help.

My day was full of engagements already, I was exhausted, I was dozing while watching the program, I managed to bathe and sleep.
