Goodybest Diary: A Day of Gratitude, Celebration, and Family at AkMDA End-of-Year Party Thur 18 Dec, 2025.

Dear Diary,

It is always said that every special day begins with gratitude, and Thursday wasn't exception.

As always I woke up quite early that morning, pretty excited for the day ahead. I went through my morning rituals; saying my personal prayers, bathing, and cleaning the house. Afterward, we gathered as a family for our morning worship, committing the day into Jehovah’s hands and thanking Him for life, provision, and unity.

By around 10:00 AM, I headed to the salon to fix my eyelashes so I could look a bit more glamorous for the event. I returned shortly after, and the house became lively as the kids and I began dressing up. Everyone was excited. Not long after, my husband returned from where he had gone earlier. Being the treasurer of the Akwa Ibom State Motor-Dealers Association (AkMDA), he also had to look his best. By 12:30 PM, we were all set and ready to leave.

On our way to the venue, my son suddenly asked a very funny question that made all of us burst into laughter. He asked his daddy, “Is today the end of the car business?” 😂
His dad smiled and explained gently that it wasn’t the end of the business, but rather a time to celebrate, relax, and thank the Almighty God for sustaining their work throughout the year. Truly, children and curiosity are inseparable, especially at ages 5 to 10.

The event was scheduled to start by 1:00 PM, and upon arriving at Life Power Event Center, 2 Lane, Uyo, some members were already seated with their families. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table. The atmosphere was welcoming filled with laughter, conversations, and anticipation.

The program officially began with the chairman’s opening remarks. He reminded everyone of the purpose of the AkMDA, which is to support motor dealers, promote unity among members, protect their interests, and encourage business growth through cooperation and mutual assistance. His words were inspiring and timely. Other executive members were called upon to give their remarks as well.

One of the major highlights of the day was the launching of the 2026 AkMDA Almanac. The chairman launched it with ₦50,000 - (530 Steem) followed by his deputy who donated ₦30,000 - (340 Steem), My husband supported with ₦50,000 - (530 Steem).

Other members also supported the project with amounts ranging from ₦5,000 (51 Steem) to ₦100,000 (1,020 Steem). It was truly beautiful to see unity and collective responsibility in action.

Refreshments were well provided; wine, juice, water, and soft drinks were neatly arranged on every table. Shortly after, the caterer arrived, and to my pleasant surprise, it was none other than @vickydear, my husband really kept this a secret to surprise me. Hahaha! The food service began with hot, tasty pepper soup, followed by cow leg sauce, and finally fufu with afang soup. The food was delicious and more than enough for everyone.
