Dear Diary,

Saturday was such an eventful, joyful and heartwarming day, I'm glad I could penned it down for memory sake. It was one of those days that fills my heart with brim of gratitude ❤️.

A Productive Morning at Home:

My day began bright and early. I woke with laundry while the morning was still cool and quiet. After that, I went straight into the kitchen to prepare a delicious pot of rice and stew for my beloved family. Recalled I'd gotten the ingredients the previous day.
The aroma of the onions, tomatoes and natural spices filled the house gracefully, and we all enjoyed a warm and delicious brunch together before everyone got ready for the day.

Off to My Cousin’s Wedding:

By 1 PM, I was dressed and pretty excited to attend my cousin’s wedding. I didn't carry my kids along because I wanted to do baby's girl soft life, hahaha. Then I looked forward to seeing my siblings because we gonna do a lot of amebo (gossiping) hey not harmful one 🙄 and I'll see my dear Dad, I can't trade family moments for anything, they are always precious.

The wedding took place at one of our Kingdom Halls in the city (2 lane in Uyo). The public discourse for the day touched deeply. It was beneficial for both the newly wedding and long time marriage partners. The speaker emphasized honorable marriage, reminding husbands to love and cherish their wives, and wives to show deep respect for their husbands. It was truly uplifting.

The first part of the ceremony ended with the couple taking their marriage vows, followed by a meaningful song and prayer. I was overjoyed to see my Dad, my elder sisters, cousins, friends, and fellow Steemians who also attended.

Memories at the Reception:

We drove down to the reception venue afterward, ha such a spacious and conducive place! Photographs were taken in an orderly manner, first was couple alone, then with their families and friends. You know I was glad to meet many Steemian friends there too. Of course, we took lots of pictures together. 😄

The chairman gave his opening remarks, encouraging orderliness and reminding us that everything should bring glory to God Almighty. He also prohibited spraying money on the couple, as it's against the law in Nigeria.

Soon, the couple danced in majestically with their bridal train. Their dance was beautiful and full of joy! They cut their cake, fed each other lovingly, and then food and drinks were served.

One of the most emotional moments was when my cousin sang “Beautiful in White” for his wife. And in return, she sang “From This Moment” for him. Their voices and expressions melted everyone’s hearts.

💃 Dancing Our Hearts Out

After the closing prayer, the celebration turned into a lively dance session. My sister and I danced so much the DJ was simply amazing!
We danced our sorrows away and lifted our spirits high, laughing and enjoying every moment.

By 4:45 PM, it was time to leave. I dropped my Dad off at the village before heading to the next event of the day.

🎉 A Send-Off with Love

My final event for the day was the send-off ceremony for a dear family friend and Christian couple who had been appointed to serve where the need is greater in Anyanwu in Port Harcourt.

We arrived by 6:13 PM, but the heavy rain made us wait in the car for a while. When it finally subsided, we joined the others inside. The occasion took place in one of our Christian brother's house. Soft drinks, fried rice, and chicken were served.

My children, Jahofon and Fortune, read a heartfelt farewell message for the couple. It made me so proud. Others also shared their well-wishes and prayers for the couple’s success as they move to their new assignment.

We took pictures, exchanged warm hugs, and eventually headed home.
