The Diary Game 28/10/2025: An easy family lunch at **Di Napoli** in Bou Mhel, pizza for the kids and a cheese-free plan for me

Hello, Steemit!
It was one of those bright Tunisian midday hours when errands turn into small adventures, so I steered us toward Di Napoli in Bou Mhel, a neighborhood spot where a neon script warms the room and the smell of dough rising meets you at the door, and because my cheese allergy makes me a careful chooser I went in planning to keep things cheese free while the kids chased the molten dreams only pizza can promise.

Inside, the décor does a quick tour of Italy in framed snapshots, and I like how the greenery softens the corners while the prints add personality, one frame showing a blue shirted football legend grinning with the easy confidence of a hero remembered and the other offering a postcard view of gondolas leaning against their moorings beneath a pale sky, a reminder that lunch can carry you far without anyone checking passports.

| A smiling icon in blue that adds a little stadium energy to the room. | Gondolas at rest, a calm picture that slows time between orders and first bites. |
Ordering was simple and fast. The kids split two rectangular slices with one gloriously four cheese and the other tuna with cheese, olives, and tomato, and I, sticking to my safe lane, decided to enjoy the company and the scent of good tomato sauce rather than risk the wrong topping, a choice that always sounds less fun on paper than it feels in real life when your children are busy comparing slices and inventing rules for who gets the next square.

Rectangles with character, edges caramelized and centers tender with a generous hand on toppings.
When the board landed, the four cheese slice did exactly what children hope it will do with long pulls and a soft shimmer on the surface, while the tuna olive slice brought bright reds and inky blacks into the frame, the kind of color story that makes a phone reach for the camera before the fork remembers its job. I nibbled a safe corner of cheese free crust and savored the roasted tomato perfume riding a whisper of oregano which is, for me, the perfect compromise between caution and participation.

Pizza concentration, the moment when conversation slows to nods, smiles, and carefully chosen next bites.
I appreciate small gestures and the team here has the rhythm of fast, friendly, and attentive service, water on the table without asking, a quick confirmation about the no cheese note on our order, and a gentle check in just as the last two squares started negotiating their future. The bill told the same story of easygoing value, 14.260 TND, which at 1 TND = 3.69 STEEM converts to ≈ 52.62 STEEM for our two midday slices.

Two slices at 12:51 for 14.260 TND which is ≈ 52.62 STEEM at the rate above.
Before we left we grabbed a quick selfie with the framed prints in the background because the contrast of sports legend and floating boats somehow sums up Di Napoli’s personality, cheerful, a little nostalgic, and comfortable with the idea that a small room can hold big references. As we stepped back into the light the kids ranked their favorites while I filed a note for next time, ask for a tomato only Marinara style slice, no cheese, extra oregano, maybe a handful of fresh rocket after the oven, because that is my happy middle ground when the table votes pizza.

A quick “we were here” under two very Italian moods, stadium roar and quiet canal.
