Men Can Cook || Preparing Pepper Chicken Noodles
The Steemit learning challenge has taught me a lot of things, especially the food aspect. I really learned how to do a lot of kitchen duties, things I don't do often. Some were new to me while others needed a few tutorials to catch up. So I decided to prepare Pepper Chicken Noodles. Most people prepare their noodles with carrots, green beans, eggs, or just like that with limited ingredients.
Do you know the best way to eat noodles is when there's sufficient pepper? I know pepper may not really be good for some people, but I do enjoy it, especially on rainy days. It gives a different vibe entirely. Gone are the days we used to eat noodles with curry leaves. So how did I come about this pepper chicken noodle recipe?
About your recipe |

Pepper Chicken Noodles is not really a Nigerian kind of dish because it's not the kind of style we cook our noodles. It's a recipe that involves cooking noodles with pieces of chicken that are not cooked but seasoned. So it becomes part of the noodles as an essential ingredient, and you must add sufficient pepper spice to the chicken before using it to cook the noodles.

Noodles are costly, oh. Most people would prefer buying a cup of rice to buying noodles because one pack of it is ₦450 naira, and it's not even satisfying to eat one compared to one cup of rice. The only thing is that it's good for immediate hunger. It's actually easy to prepare and fast to cook from scratch. You won't have to wait for a long time, as when cooking rice. Noodles are easy and fast to prepare when you're hungry. Concerning availability, it's readily available and the most sold in the local market.

Steps on how to prepare |
|---|
- To prepare this recipe, you must start with your chicken, as it's the major ingredient. I washed my chicken and cut it into slices. The slices weren't that small because I wanted to feel the meat in the chicken. After doing so, I contained them on a plate and added the dry pepper in it with salt. After doing this, I put the sachet tomatoes in a bowl and added a few drops of water so it would be thick in liquid form.
- I added 2 seasoning cubes, curry powder, and thyme and then mixed it well for it to taste. After doing so, I boiled my chicken in hot water for some time, and after 10 minutes, I filtered the water and put it into the sauce I made. I didn't want to put the raw chicken inside the noodles because noodles cook faster than chicken. After putting the slices into my sauce, I put a cup of water into my pan and allowed it to boil for 5 minutes.

- While waiting, I unpacked my noodles and my ingredients and contained them in a plate. My onions were fully sliced, and my groundnut oil was ready to create a mixture. My fresh peppers were well ground. When the water started steaming, I placed my noodles in the pan without breaking them and allowed them to become soft.

- Once it became soft and spread around the pan, I added a few drops of groundnut oil to grease the noodles and make it sweet. I then added my chicken together with the sauce in the pan and allowed the steaming process to continue.

- I added my onions, curry leaves, dry spices, and ground pepper all at once and waited for it to be cooked well before serving it hot on a plate.
- This is the final product.
Is this recipe or food common in my locality? |
|---|
This recipe isn't common in my locality. It's something new I learned this season. We usually use chicken with noodles, but not cooked together with it in a sauce. It was my own experiment, and can you imagine! It came out so well. Sweet and tasty it was. I prepared this dish for my own consumption; that's why I made it full of pepper.
