A lot of the talk about price is not about the moon and Lambos, it is about the hope that there is still a chance that life will work out, that some of those simple pleasures could one day be available or at least, not completely out of reach.
This is me, with retirement looming. Comfort, not a Lambo, is plenty for me. I would not object to more, but the wherewithal for a good life is just fine.
No longer concerned about leaving a legacy for my son. He’s the nimble entrepreneur I’ve never been. Pretty sure he’ll adapt to whatever the future brings.

You have raised him well then. I think the most important lessons for children is make them adaptable to the future. I hope that in time I am able to do the same so my daughter has the chance to flax with life rather than struggle constantly fighting against it.
I’ve done some epic screwups in my time. But if I get hit by a bus tomorrow, I can die happy knowing I’ve done at least one good thing. I’ve raised a damn fine young man.
