Is illegal content eternal? no delete?
What if someone posts something really bad, what if its images of horrendous stuff, and texts that promote illegal activities, i can understand that the author cant directly delete the content, but shouldnt the communinty be able to vote for its deletion or something?
Who can delete it? Moderators? I sure dont want kids to one day find a steemit link that shows some nasty crazy stuff like that. Heck i dont want to suddenly find it either. I have seen really dank stuff in the deep web that i dont want someone to bring up just to get their jollys, as it is now i havent really seen any disgusting content yet, but maybe its just a question of time.
What about legal content that just was wrong for the author, they changed their mind, if they have ten posts with gibberish, they will get bad reputation even if they write other good stuff.. i sure hope that in the future there will be some better functionality.
I agree, that there SHOULD be a way, but from what I've been told, this isn't like Facebook or other social networks where things that are posted sit in memory on some server.
Here, it is my understanding (not a clear understanding at all) things are encoded on the blockchain. This seems to be something that threads through computers worldwide, so as long as their are computers, the blockchain will remain.
