RE: What’s on my mind today ...

The feel the only way to end bigotry is to let people get to know each other and connect on other things, community, art, sports, play. Then after they get to know each other and feel positive, they can approach the topics that currently scare them. In Japan that movie about Freddy Mercury did a whole lot to change popular opinion about homosexuality. So many Japanese were Queen fans but has cognitive dissonance about his sexuality, totally ignoring it. The film forced them to face it and find some acceptance for him. The internet will solve a lot of these problems for us as generations begin to grow up with more international awarenesS. That’s one of the reasons I say I’m so excited to see Africa come up, because I feel the world deserves to know her better. And Africa deserves to know some people with different lifestyles as well.

On another note: engagement takes time and is not always consistent. Don't get discouraged and go get to know more people!

This is why I’m thankful for the advancement of social media here. It’s been a great tool at promoting awareness on a lot of social issues. Personally I’ve had to unlearn and learn a lot. So yeah, I’m positive about the collective progress of us as Africans, even though it’s at a slow pace, we still stay positive.

Thank you for your constant encouragement and interaction. I really appreciate it.

I’ve seen too many good people leave the platform because of a lack of engagement. We’ve fixed a lot of problems but I think this is the one big one left to fix, but as excitement for steem comes back, I think so will engagement

Yes this is very discouraging but I think I’ll stick around.
