#7 - Separate creative work from administrative work.

MY COMMENT
More often than not, administrative work consists of policies, rules, and other limitations which are needed in order to satisfy company policy or standard. On the flip side, creative work is usually, for the most part, based on feeling and thoughts without rules and limitations, well, in my point of view. However, if there are no borders between administrative and creative work, then there could be a disaster. Imagine, improvising on the piano in your office while responding to business-related e-mails. You would just bother and irritate your co-workers and wouldn't finish your work at all. But, I digress. That example is be a bit too extreme, however, I hope my point was understandable. There is a time and place for everything. Ultimately, focus on each type of work separately.
