The Tortoise Who Borrowed Feathers to Fly 👉 A story about deception and pride.

Long ago, the birds received a rare invitation —
A magnificent feast was being prepared in the sky.
Every bird was excited.
Only the tortoise was left out.
But the tortoise was clever.
He approached the birds and said:
"Friends… you cannot go to such an important feast without a wise speaker. Let me represent you."
The birds agreed — but there was one problem.
Tortoise could not fly.
So each bird donated a feather.
Together, they built him wings.
And for the first time in his life…
The tortoise flew.
The Trick
Before arriving, tortoise suggested:
"In great gatherings, it is proper to take new names."
The birds agreed.
Tortoise chose the name:
👉 “All of You.”
When they reached the sky, the hosts announced:
"This feast is prepared for ALL OF YOU!"
Immediately, the tortoise stepped forward.
"Thank you," he said.
"Since I am All of You… the food is mine."
And he ate.
And ate.
Until nothing remained.
The birds watched in anger.
Betrayed.
Hungry.
Silent.
One by one…
They took back their feathers.
The Fall
The tortoise was stranded in the sky.
Terrified, he begged the birds to tell his wife to place soft things on the ground so he could land safely.
But the message was changed.
Instead of soft cloth…
His wife laid out hard objects.
When the tortoise jumped —
💥 CRACK!
His shell shattered into pieces.
Though it was later patched together…
It never became smooth again.
