Selling out

in #trading7 years ago

I don't usually sell out a lot, in the sense like some users may call "leveraging your account/presence for profit".

One of the first referrals after many, many months that I felt confident with sharing with my followers was to binance. I felt confident enough that this exchange would be different, not succumb to any scams, hacks, etc. But of course I warned people not to leave too much on exchanges cause that's not "owning" coins, someone else is holding them for you.

Remember that anything can happen in crypto.

I see a lot of people who capitulate on this by constantly posting about anything new they might find where they could get a profit off of having their followers use their ref links without much care about their safety.

It's all good, this is decentralization. It's weeding out the trusted from non-trusted people and the ones too easy to get tricked as well as bitconnect has tragically proven.

I'd like to change on this a little though. I've been working on receiving a following as genuine as possible. I know my influence through voting power automatically gets me followes, but I haven't let it alter my curation. I don't check steemworld constantly to see who just followed me to give them a vote. I curate the content and people I believe will be an asset to our economic system mixed with effort and quality and users showing they can be an important pillar in future communities.

What I will promise you is that I will vet the projects I'm sharing with you through ref links properly and also disclose what I have to gain from them. Not just hide them behind words.

If you have enjoyed my content, activity and ways of reaching out to Steemians over the past years I would really appreciate it if you checked out the sites through my links if they interest you.

Since incentives are a big part of Steem I would also think it would be fair to reward the people that do sign up through my ref links with a vote on their comments. This too though will and should not affect my curation. Meaning I won't be curating your posts just because you used a link of mine when signing up to somewhere.

Anyway, I believe it is a good time to start diversifying and checking out a selection of other projects on exchanges such as Binance that don't require KYC with a $2k daily withdrawal limit. Offer 0.05% trading fee compared to others ranging between 0.2-0.25. Reward you 20% of the traders trading fees (the trader does not lose anything extra due to the referral).

If you are one of those that has been thinking the same lately but hasn't created an account there yet, then here is my Binance referral link

If you click that, sign up and give me your first two letters of the email you signed up with here in a comment, I will confirm it with the site (that's all info they show me) and give you a vote as thanks and wish you good luck trading and investing. They have a decentralized exchange coming up that will hopefully be released in 2019 to make it safer for you to hodl your coins there. :)

Thanks for reading!

I signed up, not because I intend to trade on it. I use another site more custome fit to my region but just for your honesty & effort for vetting before asking people to sign up though you can very well do it otherwise also.

Thank you. :)

Hey hey, I've been looking to diversify for a while.. I've been pretty happy with Bittrex... Coinbase and Crypto.com are fine, but their fees are just hardcore (with crypto.com you get charged international fee too, blurgh). Anyway, excited about Binance, I've been meaning to join up for a while, but was just never motivated enough to jump through the hoops (that said, the hoops were pretty painless).

As newageinv said, there is a difference between selling out and recommending something you use and like... but if you start recommending weight loss green teas... I'm out.

I've registered under your referral with my e-mail address starting with 'ad'. Thanks!

but if you start recommending weight loss green teas... I'm out.

lol! :D

Ait, make sure you have a little bit of BNB coin in your wallet when trading as they use that to halve the trading fees AFAIK. :) Thanks!

whoopsie! I already have a Binance account :) However, i like the overall sentiment in your post and wish and hope that there are more people like that out there too. I actually read every word of what you wrote, which is rare for me for long posts :)

Haha thanks, yeah didn't mean for this one to become that long, it might've pushed away more new signups, lol. :D

The title got me. I was liek: "Wtf? Acid selling his steem? cmmon" hahaa

Anyway, signed up with a mail starting with "da" not because of possible rewards but because for some reason I still didn't have a binance account even though I wanted to make one for a long time now.

Hope you get a something of my lousy trades :D

I’m excited about the new decentralised one in 2019. But for me it’s near impossible to trade a profit given the heavy fees of crypto maybe it’s because of my forex background that I’m having a hard time dealing with this.

Try trading mostly during big moves like with Steem today, on Binance you can profit even from like 50 sat moves easily.

You mean swing trades? Yes I could try that but its hard to detect those given my strategy but thanks for the advice I appreciate it

I don’t think that is selling out at all as if someone decides to use the link it is normally because they have come to trust the content you provide so I think it is fair game. Sometimes I trust experience more than just an offer to try something...

haha thought you're selling large amt of steem other than your usual strategy, did you catch the 870 flash spike ? =)

Good sharing, i still prefer binance compare to bittrex for the fee and volume.
