People are addicted to their phones. I know of some who confess to putting it in the back, out of their reach, because that's the only way they can resist checking every notification or answering calls.
There was also that funny government advert when people were forgetting their kids in the car.
"Put something of value in the backseat, like your phone, so that you won't forget that your kid is in the back."
Sad funny.
