Manor House fire: 'Chaos' after 'Tube train blaze' leaves commuters choking
A train reportedly caught fire causing transport 'chaos' for London commuters during the busy rush-hour period this morning.
Commuters were forced to evacuate from Manor House underground station which has since been closed due to the fire alert.
Witnesses reported seeing smoke at both Finsbury Park station and Manor House station, causing them to choke.
One passenger reported 'roaring' coming from their train, which he believes was due to engine trouble.
He told the Mirror: "The driver notified passengers of a delay at Finsbury Park, and a few minutes later recommended that passengers evacuate the train as it started smoking."
Another person said they noticed a strong smell of smoke as they evacuated at around 8am this morning.
Transport for London says there are now severe delays on the Piccadilly Line and Victoria Line and have urged commuters to use other stations.
