THE FLUTE
I was a born a man
Before I become a woman.
My choice, my life.
I'm not an omen
Though my biology is in doubt.
I found myself in this flute
Things that I liked vanished.
The world has ripped us apart
Burn our names
And wrote our obituaries.
I want to change but I don't know how
My inner being is a woman
But I'm a man outside.
I starved myself for 7 days
Prayed for 30 days
Waiting for a sign to show me who I'm
But the heavens are silent.
Is this a disease?
Is it a curse or a burden?
I do not know
But the world has rejected us.
I have seen hatred
I know what loneliness means.
My path is unclear
And my life, a mockery.
We are a generational myth
Betrayed by nature
Labeled unclean and unworthy human form.
What we need is mercy
What we need is help not rejection.
I'm a transgender
A burden to myself
A burden to the society.
I feel your heart in this piece..never be sacred to express who you are.
@motionocean thank u
The world may reject you but let me tell you one thing you should no is that God did not reject you. Nice work
thank u @millyiyke
great talk
Your poetry gave me goosebumps. One more thing you are not a burden to anyone and learn to love yourself. If you will love yourself then the whole world will eventually fall in love with you.
@preetika thank you so much Dear.
You can stand up for yourself and care more about your well-being than what others may think of you! That's the most important thing there is, and I can only congratulate you for doing it. Many people supress what they feel just so they can be accepted by the society.
@peterveronika thank you so much..
True talk.
Beautiful! I really liked the poem. Be who you wanna be fuck it
thank u so much
kindly don't think it is as you described, take it as a gift of god. to be accepted in society first you have to accept this.
God is always with you.
thank you for ur kind words
I love this
Thank you @hillaryisidore
Although at times it may seem like the world is rejecting you, know that it is ever changing, and there are more and more people who don't, and won't, reject you.
But what's most important is that you don't reject yourself. Obviously easier said than done, but once you can be yourself without worry or shame, everything else feels just a bit easier.
I hope you don't truly think of yourself as a burden, and if you do, I hope that doesn't last long.
Thank u so much
of course =]
Greetings creativecorner. While I have no idea what it is like to be transgender, I do understand being trapped, hated....now and then...a loneliness so acute I feel as if pierced by a cold sharp needle in what passes for my heart.... and a path so unclear that at age 59 I have no idea what I want to be when I grow up.
Be careful giving power to the people...any people outside of you and the god of your understanding. Society's acceptance...is a prison...disguised as a palace. I still hear on days when I am about business...when the day is warm and the sun is shining...my mother's voice on the wind...as she tells me again how "Everything you touch...you destroy.". The power given to us by the cosmos/universe/god...is for us to use to grow strong enough for the journey...not for us to allow to remain in the hands of those who are alien to themselves let alone to us. I bear witness to your path, your pain and your joy. If someone has power over you...may you find the strength to reclaim it from them. May the gods stand between you and harm...in all the empty places where you must walk. And may you find the acceptance you seek in the gaze from that person you see when you look in the mirror. Peace and blessings...
Mirror makes everything beautiful but I believe the heart is the portrait of the soul. Blessed @zholla
