Welcome  to living Asia 

Having wanted to travel from a very young age off 23 and having traveled much of asia And other parts off the world mainland Spain 2 years . Then onto the Canary Islands where I spent 10 years off my life very chilled out and enjoying life working to survive 

on a jeep safari  very good experience  driver video man tour guide as a guide you learn a lot about travel

But then a friend said what about Asia so I started reading up on all of Asia 

where to start poor people poor areas bright lights big city's beaches having already traveled for 12 years now being 35 still really living out off a bag it was time to make a choice stay where i am or move on . having had itchy feet again for about a year 

I chose Thailand has a destination so worked in the Canary Islands for another month and booked a ticket in the mean time I was taking to people online who was already there no really clear advice on work just try it and see  

so the start of this new  adventure is April 1992 

things were much less undeveloped and cheaper in those days it's still chew but not in comparison to those days 

so off I went landing in the old air port waiting in a que off people for a entry visa for about an hour finally i was here with my bag I headed for the doors as they  opened the heat was just like walking into a sauna turning round and waLiking back into the airport  looking for a cold drink which then cost almost nothing so my first experience a cold beer Leo it was the best drink of the day . So time to brave Bangkok 

iv never seen such a busy hub taxi driver touts for every kind off trip and transport trying to shy away from it all I headed for this que  off strange 3 wheel bike things known as a tuk tuk looks like a good way to see things where am I going the driver ask in broken English Khosarn road he says having read the name on the internet mite  as well as good as any where  else I suppose 

so here I am with this crazy but skilled driver . winding in and out off traffic at the same time the sound off this contraption was deafening to say the least .  smoky once stopping in traffic was like having a shisha but only carbon monoxide was the flavour the heat from the surrounding traffic I was melting still in jeans and the beloved trainers  

so we arrived at our destination by the way my Tuk  tuk driver had a bob Marley look about him when I pay the fair which I can't remember now it was so long ago you want weed.  of course I said no having seen signs that say deaf penelty in the airport for drugs and this guy is screaming loudly weed you want weed 

eventually he realized  I'm not buying it . he mention you want me show you around tomorrow maybe I said ok he said 

so off I walked the found an hotel called new world lodge at that time it was a cheap hotel so I checked in it had Every thing I wanted so quick shower .and out too see Asia or Bangkok for the first time 

Khosarn road. this could  be anywhere in the world so a road full off flashing lights strange food  girls boys and off course the lady boys more bars than you can visit in a few short days clothing stalls every where fake t shirts trainers drugs driving license you name it it was there  but unfortunately after a few late nights in bars this is not for me it's just a tourist trap but I had a good time but time to move on 

so the next morning I arrive at the bus station no idea where To go next all I keep hearing is Pattaya  . I would say don't go there having spent a month there trying to work out what is going on well all I can say about this city is its amazing in its own way depending on what you want but it is also the biggest den off eniqity you could ever visit 

an abundance off lady's off the night and bars at that time there wasn't really that much else dirty beaches but hay I'm not saying it's bad just not for me having learnt a lot in Pattaya. About places to visit and dos and donts some from Thais  some from the expat people that lived there  so time to move on and also try to find some work as the money was getting low and now needing to renew my visa but that's for another time
