Exploring Australia#3 Fish market

in #travel7 years ago

Everywhere I go, the local fish market is a must visit place for me – that is probably my sealife curiosity together with the professional interest that leads me there.
Fish market here in Sydney appeared to be smaller than I expected, very clean and organized - everything is in its place on the shelf. That gave me a bit of a ‘groceries store’ feeling as I love fishermen markets with that special atmosphere you cannot get anywhere else. Nevertheless, Sydney fish market is very well organized with a range of seafood cafes to choose from and sitting space near the sea. All different kinds of fish, mollusks, crabs, and lobsters are here to watch and to try. You can also get fresh oysters, there are plenty of those – I’ve never seen that many on any other fish market.

So many birds live here: seagulls, parrots and even a huge Pelican! Seagulls are much nicer than British ones - they don’t go for your food while you are eating it and they are three times smaller which makes me feel so much better around them)
