life in the jungle

in #travel7 years ago

Daintree rainforest is a proper jungle: hot, humid, with lots of tropic plants and iguanas, peacefully lying under the sun.

One of the things you catching yourself thinking about in there are crocodiles that inhabit this area. There are two main types: saltwater and freshwater. Saltwater ones have been giving me many concerns as unlike sharks that I know and like after years studying marine biology, these guys remain a bit scary!

Signs near the beach are very authentic indeed: crocodiles and jellyfishes inhabit this area so better not to enter the water. As it was not particularly breeding season for any of those, I could not make a decision for good five minutes - to go or not to go for a swim? Well, I am a very careful person so decided not to risk. Marine crocodiles tend to live in the area where the river goes into the ocean and salt water mixes with fresh water.

Apparently, I've been told that the safest place to swim there is the river in the woods. Saltwater crocodiles don't get there, freshwater are probably more concerned about humans that we are about them.

And yeah, Australia is that place where you can find the crocodile sign near the river even in the Botanic gardens in the city.

The views here are gorgeous, it's amazingly beautiful. And it feels like a place for an adventure:)

This picture reminds me "H2O just add water" series soo much! Anyone here loves mermaids as much as I do?
